Weekend Dish is a place for me to get a little more personal! If you just come to Sunny Side Up for the food, feel free to skip this post but be sure to check back next week for new food photos and recipes!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! We were happy to be able to spend Saturday evening with my BFF and her husband. That is one major perk of being home. I am realizing now just how much I missed my friends and family!
One thing that the I missing right now is cooking. I do have access to a kitchen at my in-laws, but it’s just not the same as your own kitchen with your own supplies/ingredients/tools. I did make slightly varied version of my Roasted Vegetable Pasta Salad for our get together on Saturday night and it was a huge hit! I used tortellinis instead of bow ties and the dressing base was balsamic vinegar. Yum!
Blog Recap
Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies with Chocolate Chips – These tasty little cookies were just what I was looking for one Friday night when I was bit by the baking bug and a sweet tooth! I loved the added texture from the oatmeal, and it made them feel just a teensy bit healthier than regular cookies. π
Pregnancy Update
With all the craziness of moving we seriously slacked on belly pics the last few weeks. We finally thought to snap one while we were taking a walk around a park. It’s crazy to watch this slow but steady growth.
Another cool thing is that she is getting really active. You can actually see a lot of her movements from the outside now. She can still be kind of stubborn about showing off her kicks for other people though. I swear she can be bouncing off the walls and the minute someone else puts their hand on my belly she just stops. How does she know?! Little stinker. π
My week through Instagram
One night the baby was just begging me for some Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chip ice cream. If you’ve never had Graeter’s ice cream you’re seriously missing out. This stuff is out of this world. It’s a local Cincinnati company but many, many grocers around the country now stock their ice cream. You won’t be disappointed if you give it a try!
On Monday our cars finally arrived! Rather than driving them back ourselves (which did not sound like fun at 7 months pregnant) we opted to use a transport company. They picked our cars up from our house and dropped them off to us a little less than a week later. It was on the expensive side but I’ve decided it was totally worth it. Only downside was how FILTHY dirty they were. Covered in 2,000 miles of road dirt, diesel exhaust, and rainy weather. Luckily all it took was a good scrub down to get them sparkling again.
So this is really not a great photo of me, but how adorable is my kitty cuddling my bump?? She loves her baby sister already. π
Thatβs a wrap! Thank you so much for stopping by and reading. Have a great week and be sure to check back later in the week for a new recipe!
